HONOR ROLLS
The Honor Roll is a means of giving recognition to students based upon scholastic achievement. The requirements reflect the student's academic achievement and his/her effort and citizenship. The Honor Roll is published quarterly. Honor Roll students are recognized by (1) a special certificate presented at an awards assembly, (2) a personal congratulatory letter from a site administrator, and (3) names published in the school newsletter. Names are also sent to The Golden Eagle.To qualify, students in grades 4th and 5th must receive no D or F or incomplete on the report card. There must be no citizenship grades below satisfactory. The grade point average is based on grades for reading, mathematics, language, science/health, and history/social science. An "A" equals 4 points, a "B" equals 3 points, and a "C" equals 2 points.

For students in grades sixth-eighth grade, the grade point average is based on all classes. an "A" equals 4 points, a "B" equals 3 points, and a "C" equals 2 points.

PERFECT ATTENDANCE
Students in K-8th are eligible for this award. Perfect attendance will be recognized for students who have no absences. When appropriate, attendance at a previous school will be considered.

STUDENT OF THE MONTH
Each month, one student is honored from each preschool-eighth grade classroom at Akers as the Student of the Month. The major emphasis is placed on citizenship. A certificate is presented to the student. The Golden Eagle is contacted for pictures.

TOP ACADEMIC STUDENT
Every trimester in sixth - eighth grade, a student in each homeroom is chosen as the top student in each individual subject.

ATHLETIC AWARDS
For each team sport, the coaches give awards to the top players and to the most improved player.

CLASSROOM AWARDS
Students in K-8th can earn a variety of classroom "teacher-created" awards.
